How to know if Universal Express Pass is worth it
Universal Express Pass is priced by date for the whole day, not per ride, so the question is never “is this ride worth a pass” — it is “does my day have enough slow-loading, high-demand rides to earn the price back.” It usually does on holiday weeks and summer afternoons, and usually does not on a January weekday or if you are willing to rope-drop. The rides where Express saves the most time are the ones that load slowly rather than the ones that look most intimidating: Mario Kart, Escape from Gringotts and Forbidden Journey beat the big coasters on time saved per dollar. And one of Universal Orlando's biggest draws, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, left Express Pass on July 1, 2026 — no amount of money skips that line.
